The Kingdom of Heaven was prophesied, the King arrived, the Kingdom was announced as being "at hand" and Israel rejected her Messiah King. The Kingdom Age, as detailed in the ancient Hebrew scriptures, was then delayed.

Is the ethnic people of Israel the people of God or the nation of God? How does the New Covenant and New Testament define Israel, Jew, Jerusalem, and Children of Promise or Abraham.

Imminence and eminence of the kingdom press the urgency of true conversion—for which our only and sure hope is the power and goodness of the King.

Continuation of the importance of using a consistent hermeneutic (method of interpretation) for both the first coming of Jesus and the second coming. Either both types of prophecy are metaphorical (which we know is not true since the prophecies concerning the 1st coming are clearly literal), or they are both literal. This is why the Grammatico-Historical method is vital. It allows us to interpret real/literal things as real/literal while leaving freedom to recognize metaphor, simile, and other nuances of language. Concrete language is meant to be interpreted as concrete language, Ie., 1,000 years means 1,000 years, etc.

Jesus is applying His redemption to all for whom He accomplished it.
