The Gospel of the Kingdom - Message 90 - Death and Taxes - Matthew 17:14-27. While Jesus is on the mountain with Peter, James, John, Moses, and Elijah, the other 9 disciples are failing to deliver a boy from demonic possession. Their lack of power turns out to be the fruit of self reliance instead of prayer and faith. Jesus, frustrated with His disciples, has compassion and heals the boy. Shortly after that he has to rebuke Peter yet again for his presumption and teaches us a lesson in refusing to needlessly cause offense or put a stumbling block in another's path.

The battle between God and Satan called the supper of the great God in Revelation 19:17.

We must seek God's power to help us in all we do. He can continually preserve us. We need to stay in His will. We are powerless without Him.

Why is so much attention paid to the opulence of Persia in the first half of Esther chapter 1; and is there any message in that section for us today. You will be riveted on the story of Ahasuerus, and even more riveted by the REST of the story.

As we looked at Paul's inspired appeal to the church of Thessalonica for prayer, a burden grew on the preacher to call the remnant in America, and the true church around the world to pray for the United States of America, and for this ministry, and the church it is out of. This Psalm is often overlooked within its context as applied to David because Jesus quotes it on the cross and it gives tremendous details prophetically relating to the Passion of Christ. Yet both the original text and the prophecy point us to a reminder that in difficult times, faith and prayer are crucial. We do not rely on our own faith which is weak but on the object of faith - the Triune God!

God is the only one who can bring us into favor with man, mankind, or anything else.

Many times in life we may see where we need to go, but are powerless to get there. Our goal is to become more like Jesus, but are powerless to get there. In the world today the path to the "good life" incompasses power. A power of self-confidence is seen, but selling a false narrative is not the gospel. In today's scripture we see the church in Philadelphia. This church was not a major church. It had little strength, was meek, but in spite of this Jesus issues them massive promises. He gives 4 things to the Philadelphia church: assurance--an open door into God's kingdom & presence. #2-vindication--Jesus will make these people's enemies bow down to them or come into salvation. #3--protection from the destruction of their hope. #4 Honor--in the name of Jesus by belonging to him. The spiritual powerless receive God's gifts of His blessings, love & promises.

This message is about how being redpilled about how the world really works can very often lead being blackpilled: depressed, hopeless, and nihilistic We go over how Solomon experienced something very similar and the way to escape being blackpilled.

Hannah had a problem and it hurt her deeply. Her husband knew all about it but was powerless to help. The issue was an embarrassment only made worse by others knowing what was wrong. She needed help but couldn't say out loud what she needed, she had an unspoken prayer request.

What to do when we realize we are miles away from the Lord.

Hope in Jesus is the only thing that a Child of God can hold on to. Without hope we will be miserable.

As humans we sometimes come face-to-face with the reality that we are powerless. In those moments, and in every moment, God calls us to have confidence in Christ's power and not our own.

Surely the worst sin of all is the sin of unbelief.
