And they went, and came into an harlot's house, named Rahab, and lodged there. 2 And it was told the king of Jericho, saying, Behold, there came men in hither to night of the children of Israel to search out the country. 3 ¶ And the king of Jericho sent unto Rahab, saying, Bring forth the men that are come to thee, which are entered into thine house: for they be come to search out all the country." Joshua 6:22-25 " But Joshua had said unto the two men that had spied out the country, Go into the harlot's house, and bring out thence the woman, and all that she hath, as ye sware unto her. 23 And the young men that were spies went in, and brought out Rahab, and her father, and her mother, and her brethren, and all that she had; and they brought out all her kindred, and left them without the camp of Israel. 24 And they burnt the city with fire, and all that was therein: only the silver, and the gold, and the vessels of brass and of iron, they put into the treasury of the house of the LORD. 25 And Joshua saved Rahab the harlot alive, and her father's household, and all that she had; and she dwelleth in Israel even unto this day; because she hid the messengers, which Joshua sent to spy out Jericho."

Knowing Christ as Savior enables the Christian to live a fruitful life waiting upon His return.

The storm had been terrible and it was finally dying down. They weren't out of danger yet and they had no safe place land the ship. So they did what they could and brought it in as close as possible. At this point they had to abandon ship and make it to shore the best way they could, and all 276 made it. So who were they that made it to shore?

As we enter into the 9th chapter of this great letter, the author wants us to consider the Tabernacle and its function. In one sense, we are to see its glory in that it is a shadow pointing to something better; in another sense, we are to recognize its limitations as a temporal system which was unable to make anything perfect. In both senses, we are to be led to see the need for Christ as the High Priest of a perfect covenant, sealed by a perfect sacrifice.
