In our study, we see that there is a time and place to be shaken and troubled, but we are not to be SOON shaken by things like the many Youtube videos claiming to have Rapture dreams and claims of prophecies about impending doom, etc.

"Various trials" is defined as an array of different
types of struggles.
Heartache, sickness, marital strife, physical pain,
persecutions, feelings of neglect, misunderstandings,
being at odds with our children - all these and more
can be the trials we have in our lives, through
which God produces in us patience, which works
James, as Kevin Pulliam explains, does not belittle
the seriousness of these struggles, but issues the call
for believers to live for God's glory.
Those who recognize their spiritual bankruptcy and mourn over their sin in repentance are called to meekness. Meekness is best defined as power under divine control. We are called to be broken in by God's Word and live lives of total submission to God's will.
