What do young, Christian men need? Titus 2:6–8 looks forward to the second serial reading of in morning public worship on the coming Lord's Day. In these three verses of Holy Scripture, the Holy Spirit teaches us that young, Christian men need to persist in sober-minded living, after the pattern of exemplary ministers.

Although Jacob certainly displays poor character at times, this passage is actually used against him far too often, and many people seem to make Esau out to be the victim of immense treachery here. But the versions of manliness that this passage has been used to promote are often misguided. We can actually learn several aspects of Biblical manhood from this passage, not from Esau but from Jacob himself

A sermon calling on men to fulfill the roles God has given to men in the marriage, the family and society. These roles can only be properly fulfilled by those who are in submission to God and walking with Christ. This world's thinking on the meaning of a man is completely contrary to what the Bible says.

God says when choosing a man to lead you, be like Him: don't look on the outward appearance alone, but look to the heart of who he is. Look to the Heart.

What kind of man does God use to lead families, churches, and nations? Pastor leads his family in today's "Hopewell @Home" passage. Exodus 2:11–22 prepares us for the first serial Scripture reading in public worship on the coming Lord's Day. In these twelve verses of holy Scripture, the Holy Spirit introduces us to Moses's character, teaching us that God uses godly men (conviction, compassion, courage), imperfect men, and opposed men. Most of all, we learn that God ultimately uses Christ alone and that, clinging to Him, we needn't be discouraged by shortcomings or opposition.

"It is typical of those who betray the truth, betray the Church, betray Jesus that they do so with a kiss..." They will deny this or that truth all the while professing their esteem and attachment to Jesus… " "They will dishonour their Master, but with pleasant smiles and smooth words. They will betray the Church of Jesus Christ but always assuring us that it is for love… " "compromisers use smooth talk and flattering words to cloak their sin… and then they will charge those on the other side with being unkind, unfair, severe, uncharitable, unloving."
