An examination of God's continuing charges against the people of Judah which will result in their captivity Their depravity is total, they are guilty of not just spiritual adultery but sexual immorality as a part of their idolatry, as well as a lack of fear of their God. As a result, God again declares judgment is coming, but promises to mercifully reserve a remnant.

Jeremiah Part 31 the prophet paints a dystopian picture of the judgment that will soon be experienced by the people of Judah.

"Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;"

In what way does God's grace "run out"? Isaiah 5 looks forward to the first serial reading in morning public worship on the coming Lord's Day. God says love one another for love is of God. "Love one another" is not an imperative command in this verse thus it has a different focus than a command - John is given an encouragement, an exhortation to love with the love the God gives you and thus to experience the Joy which God experiences in showing love. God loves love and it is a joy to share in God's love.
