In this passage we see the unlikely combination of exaltation and suffering. The Servant is crushed but is victorious. He suffers according to God's will. This was no accident. The Servant Himself was a guilt offering. He would die at Passover as the lamb sacrifice. However, the Servant will be exalted. He will have a people for Himself, He will dwell with His people forever, and He does not live in perpetual suffering but lives victoriously, sitting at the right hand of the Father, in glory and honor. This should be a comfort to us today, that Jesus has defeated death and lives to intercede for us!

The days of our life are a precious gift to be invested for the Lord.

This is a study of the glory that God alone deserves and which will be revealed, without end, forever and ever. Out of the riches of His glory come His most wonderful gifts to us, His vessels of mercy. His glory is powerfully revealed in His glorious gospel, as the gospel makes clear what His character is truly like. Worldly happingess is short lived. We often leave God out of our plans. But our lives are short lived and we have a responsibility to live for Him! What does God say to do?

To sinners who know that they deserve to be abandoned, the Lord gives them have hearts that are moved by the knowledge that they have an accepted mediator.

Christ is risen, and so we are already now living out the victory! Our bodies are not suited for heaven, so we must be transformed. (v.50-53) Our bodily transformation is what marks our victory over death. (v.54-55) Our victory over death, sin, and the law comes through Christ. (v.56-57) Conclusion: Keep on being faithful and productive, because Christ's rising is your victory. (v.58) Applying: Where is the resurrection victory seen in our own lives? With whom is our struggle? Ephesians 6:12 What do we get someday? 2 Corinthians 5:4 How can we know our work is not in vain? Isaiah 65:23

The stock market may crash. The price of a barrel of oil may top $100. A gallon of gas may soon average $5. The unemployment rate may hit 20 percent. The war on terror may never be won.
