In this sermon from I John 5:4-10, we review four principles of spiritual discernment, explain the quasi-Christian movement known as Gnosticism, and walk with the Apostle John as he applies the principles of spiritual discernment to the Gnosticism of his day. The sermon concludes with an exhortation to exercise the same discernment toward the Progressive Christianity of our own day.

Now The End Begins Bible Study - Romans 13:3-4
A Minnesota Democratic–Farmer–Labor Party official who once vowed to "dismantle" the Minneapolis Police Department is now calling for tougher crime laws after she was beaten and bloodied in a carjacking outside her home this week. "I have a broken leg, deep lacerations on my head, bruising, and cuts all over my body. And I have rage," wrote Shivanthi Sathanandan, who said the beating occurred in front of her 4-year-old daughter and 7-year-old son around 7:45 p.m. Tuesday. Well now, imagine that. On this episode of the NTEB Prophecy News Podcast, it's been a little over 3 years since the anti-America revolutionaries known as Black Lives Matter and ANTIFA demanded that police departments in places like Minnesota be 'dismantled and defunded'. What does it look like in those cities in 2023? It looks like a literal Hell on earth as violent crime and theft has increased more than 300%. The only people who would ever want to dismantle the police are the criminals, so they can roam about freely and operate as liberals like Shivanthi Sathanandan have now discovered.

Sermon Title: The Transforming Power of Truth
Scripture Text: Psalm 119:129-136
Pastor-Teacher: Justin Hornbaker

What is the specific definition of faith, and how do we see faith used in the scripture? Is faith always used in the saving sense, or is it used in other ways?
Matthew 7:21-23

The freedom so many cherish is little more than slavery to our own sinful lusts. The apostle Paul calls us to a better freedom, in service to God who sets us free from sin through Jesus Christ His Son.

An introduction into the judgment declared.

In this section of Exodus 32, we learn what it really is when we, like the children of Israel, fight against God's favor.

Why must Christians walk in obedience? Romans 6:15–19 looks forward to the sermon in the midweek meeting. In these five verses of Holy Scripture, the Holy Spirit teaches us that Christians must walk in obedience, because if they don't, then it turns out that they aren't Christians at all.

Things are happening so fast today. The societal change in the last 5 years has been breathtaking. What will the next five years bring? Our culture is corrupt and declining. Good is bad and bad is good. Everyone does what is right in their own eyes. The authority of dignified and righteous leaders is scarce. When we look at things, we can come to only one of two conclusions. Either God is not control or it is something else entirely. We know that the one and true living God is supreme in all things. He is sovereign. Nothing happens unless He has ordained it. It stands written! The correct conclusion is that the wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of men who suppress the truth by their wickedness. The most fundamental sin in our fallen, corrupt nature is the sin of idolatry, the sin of refusing to honor God as he is. How does God respond to idolatry? God gives people over to what they want. What is the effect? The degrading of their bodies with one another. When men refuse to honor God, they begin to dishonor themselves. Wherever the glory of God is attacked, sooner or later the dignity of man suffers. Be afraid: the current culture is prima facie evidence of the wrath of God upon our society. When God judges people according to the standard of his righteousness, he is declaring that he will not strive with mankind forever. The worst thing that can happen to sinners is to be allowed to go on sinning without any divine restraints. We become slaves of the things we want to do, forging our own chains link by link.
What leads to lawlessness in a nation? Listen to this lesson to learn that when individuals depart from God they become involved in the arrogance skills with disastrous results for their nation. See how failure to honor God and love your neighbor as yourself is a road to ruin and violence. Find out that when absolutes break down it can result in the destruction of a nation and civil war.

What a Fellowship, What a Joy Divine_03. Leviticus 3:1-17 [Peace Offering]Christ made peace between God and man and between Jew and gentile. How can we secure the fellowship and peace of God? There are two kinds of peace that God gives.First, there is peace with God. Man is separated and alienated from God because of sin. It is man's sin—his evil and lawlessness—that causes so much restlessness and disturbance in his heart and life. But there is an answer: the atonement, that is, reconciliation with God. This was seen in the Burnt Offering .Second, there is the peace of God. Once we have made peace with God, the peace of God begins to fill our spirits. God's peace settles within us and to give us the peace and fellowship.God makes is clear in Leviticus 3 that our fellowship with God, our communion with God, is experienced only by the shedding of the blood of a perfect substitutionary sacrifice. the sweet aroma of the sacrifice pleased the LORD. God accepted the person seeking more peace and fellowship with Him. God fulfilled His promise: the person was filled with God's presence and experienced more and more of God's peace and fellowship.
1 John 1:5-10 - The Message of Joy
Knowing the object of joy, believing the familiarity of joy,
and receiving the offer of joy, you may experience the fullness of joy.

---D. Cleansing (v9b)

It is for us to enter into this better covenant of Grace through faith, whereby we look to the promises of God fulfilled in His Son (Jesus). Excepting He has the power to deliver us and has not forsaken us, it is our sins (iniquity), that have turned His face from us. When we hear the Gospel call, turn from our sins then He cleanses us from all unrighteousness.

One day, a wife said to her prideful husband, "When you die, I'm going to bury you twelve feet under!" The boastful man turned to her said, "Why would you do that?" She quickly replied, "Because I know that way down deep you are a nice guy." We all know that way down deep in the recesses of our hearts, it ain't so pretty. Every true Christian is quick to confess that if it wasn't for Christ and His righteousness, they would be doomed. The Christian is blessed to know, really know, that he or she is a sinner. A sinner is hard to find. It is a holy thing! We cannot cover it up: we know it. J. C. Ryle points out "that a right knowledge of sin lies at the root of all saving Christianity…. If a man does not realize the dangerous nature of his soul's disease, you cannot wonder if he is content with false or imperfect remedies." If you do not have a biblical view of the seriousness of sin, then you do not need anything nearly as radical as a Savior who "appeared in order to take away sins." If our need is just for a few tips on how to have a happier life or improve our self-esteem, then why all this extreme talk about Christ shedding His blood as the propitiation for our sins?

Every generation of Christians is benefitted by believing the words of Jesus about what would take place before His glorious return.

The Gentiles attain true righteousness by faith in Christ who builds his church upon the true stone of grace.

The Stone Upon Which the Church is Built v. 33
Lurking behind every beautiful scene on every Christmas card and every lovely sentiment of Christmas there's a vile, wretched reality that is crucial to a proper understanding of Christmas. And that reality is that sinners needed a Savior.
There are those who will tell you today that you must come under the law of Moses or become lawless. This is a false choice. The gospel choice is between the Mosaic Covenant and the New Covenant of Christ; the flesh and the Spirit; law or grace. To not be under the law of Moses is to be under the New Covenant of the Spirit who writes the law on your mind and your heart. The gospel does not lead to lawlessness, but to a new creation in Christ Jesus.
