Why is it that some disbelieve? Last time, we saw Jesus extend the perfect gospel presentation, but the people refuse to believe. Because of sin, no one can believe without a special work of God's grace.
The Doctrines of Grace and the Gospel - Message 4 - Invincible Grace - Romans 8:29-30. Properly defining God's Saving Grace gives us great confidence in preaching the gospel and witnessing to the lost. God uses means and as we preach He draws His sheep to Himself.
As the Apostle Paul was speaking to Lydia of Thyatira about Jesus Christ, the Lord opened Lydia's heart to heed the things that Paul was saying. In this sermon, we consider the doctrine of effectual calling and how it ought to shape the Gospel ministry and world mission of the Church of Jesus Christ.
We start today looking at the Jewish calendar... and of course there's math. So, the Advanced Class starts with math class to find out where we are now in time.
Today, pastor warned me before the lecture that we're going to delve in deeper to the question that was brought up the last time we met. We start with 1 Corinthians 13:10. We're getting back into the discussion of Irresistible Grace and how unviable that position is. Our pastor lays out passages that all need to be tied together to understand the truth of the Gospel. We go to John 17:12, where we have the triune Godhead talking to the triune Godhead. Think it's going to be simple? We connect this with Genesis 15 and Genesis 18 and New Testament passages.
So, I'm just going to sit back and taking in the lecture... feel free to do the same. But take notes. You'll need them. We're into the question of why does God withhold His identity from the fallen and unfallen Angels until the timeframe of Genesis 2? And he connects that with what happened when Judas with Satan inside of him found out that Jesus was not doing what they thought He was doing. Then we go to the beast and the Antichrist at the end times.
We're back in Genesis 6 and 19... The days of Noah and the days of Lot and witnessing Angels. And we're into the Biblical fact that the unsaved will go into eternal conscious punishment.
And now we tie in Total Inability! We're at Matthew 22:34-36 with the trap the Pharisee's try and set for God. This is the beginning of the answer to the question...
Next time we'll go over the order to eternal security, along with more answers to Total Inability.
Thanks for joining us. See you in two weeks.
"The voice of the Lord is powerful; the voice of the Lord is full of majesty" says the Psalmist. Christ Himself said that "His sheep would hear my voice". The undeniable truth, drawing power and irresistible love of the Saviour's voice will be heard, but only by His sheep.
