We are not just accepted when born again, but we become a child of God. And if children, then heirs; heirs of God.

God makes sure His people know that they are indeed going into the Promised Land, but despite the fact that He should destroy them for their unrighteousness and only because of Christ's covenant of grace. Christians, you don't deserve heaven. Christians, you only get heaven through Christ alone. Christians, you only get heaven by merciful grace alone. Therefore, Christians, move forward toward heaven. Persevere and Proceed to the Promised Land by Christ and Grace Alone.

How does the Holy Spirit minister our adoption to us? Romans 8:16–17 looks forward to the midweek sermon. In these two verses of Holy Scripture, the Holy Spirit teaches us that the Holy Spirit agrees with us as we cry Abba, convincing us of our status as God's heirs and of our union with Christ by which we came into that status.

The Scripture: Luke 10:25–37, [25] And behold, a lawyer stood up to put him to the test, saying, "Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?" [26] He said to him, "What is written in the Law? How do you read it?" [27] And he answered, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself." [28] And he said to him, "You have answered correctly; do this, and you will live." [29] But he, desiring to justify himself, said to Jesus, "And who is my neighbor?" [30] Jesus replied, "A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and he fell among robbers, who stripped him and beat him and departed, leaving him half dead. [31] Now by chance a priest was going down that road, and when he saw him he passed by on the other side. [32] So likewise a Levite, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side. [33] But a Samaritan, as he journeyed, came to where he was, and when he saw him, he had compassion. [34] He went to him and bound up his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he set him on his own animal and brought him to an inn and took care of him. [35] And the next day he took out two denarii and gave them to the innkeeper, saying, 'Take care of him, and whatever more you spend, I will repay you when I come back.' [36] Which of these three, do you think, proved to be a neighbor to the man who fell among the robbers?" [37] He said, "The one who showed him mercy." To inherit nothing but Christ - I found it at last! Psalm 119:57-64 Philippians 3:1-11

In Isaiah 49:1-13, the 2 nd Servant Song, we are shown 2 speeches describing the mission of Yahweh's Servant. I. The Servant speaks to the ends of the earth: A. Yahweh called me to be True Israel (vs. 1-3). B. Yahweh is My justice and reward: I trust in Him (v. 4). C. Yahweh commissioned me: To bring Jacob's remnant back to Him (vs. 5-6a). To be a light to the nations (v. 6b). II. Yahweh speaks to His Servant: A. Nations will despise you, but I will bring them to their knees because I am faithful and chose you (v. 7). B. I promise to give You as a Covenant to the people (vs. 8-9a). C. I promise to sustain and restore Your people (vs. 9b-12). D. Creation will rejoice because I showed comfort and compassion to My people (v. 13).

There is a need to be compassionate and love the brethren.

Matthew 5:1 And seeing the multitudes, he went up into a mountain: and when he was set, his disciples came unto him: 2 And he opened his mouth, and taught them, saying, 3 Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 4 Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted. 5 Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth. 6 Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled. 7 Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy. 8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God. 9 Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God. 10 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.

Main Points We are saved by grace through faith in Christ (Ephesians 2:8). We are not saved by works (Ephesians 2:9; Titus 3:5). We must love God first and foremost (Mark 12:30). Questions Do I consider myself a good person? Do my possessions possess me? Do I love anyone or anything more than I love God?

If you've been to Calvary then you have it all. Don't let the devil tell you it's better out in the world. It's better with God than to get scarred up by the world. Wounds heal, scars don't. The scars of sin will follow us to our grave. Even after God forgives and heals your wounds you still have scars.

This is the great climax of Paul's first letter to the Corinthians. It is a victory hymn of the defeat of death and sin. In light of this truth, our Lord Jesus desires for us to labor in Him and be immovable!

Final chapter in the Book of Numbers. This points us to Christ by way of: He is our spokesman (Advocate) We will not wander forever, but will inherit an eternal reward that Jesus secured for us

Luke has finished showing us the perfections of Jesus as a man and His authority as the Son of God. He has been leading us to the purpose that Jesus came, to save sinners. He has expressed this at Levi's house and now Luke will introduce us to the teaching of Christ on salvation. This is commonly called the beatitudes. It is the story of what takes place in our salvation, from being broken in Spirit over our being lost, to mourning over sin and meekly accepting the truth of God's word. Join us as we pursue this study of what salvation looks like.

Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.

The dictate of scripture that we are given here is simple. Find those who lead well and follow after them. They have broken trail, we must enlarge and maintain it, for there will be those following behind who have need of our faithfulness. It is simple enough to understand, but it is so profoundly challenging to us on nearly every level, that we seldom find people even willing to admit that it is the command of God, let alone willing to set out for obedience. But here is the crux of the matter; the horns of the dilemma… We are promised (John 6.37-40) that every single one who God has chosen for Himself will be saved; we are further instructed (1John 2.18-19)that those who fall away and do not return are giving evidence that they were NEVER saved in the first place; AND we are told (Philippians 1.6) that God will certainly complete the work He has begun in us… This means that we MUST set ourselves with all we have in us to follow after the command of God and to patiently pursue Him and His righteousness. We must have faith that no matter what today looks like right now, God is at work and will surely complete His own glory. We must not lose heart and we MUST leave good trail for those who are following after us…

God is preparing a city to dwell with His people! Your old things will pass away; it will all be new! Blessing forever or a lake of fire? You must be born again!
