We need to study idolatry on a regular basis because in this time its' so deceptive and we don't realize it in all of it's forms. This nation is full of idolatries that carried Judah into Babylon and caused Isreal to be known as "The Lost Tribes." We are a very prideful, covetous, self-seeking, self-serving people who are among a people steeped deep into idolatry that God will judge.

There was something within Hezekiah as good a (person, King, Leader) as he was that God saw, that needed to be tested to show us what pride can do in eroding our faith if we are not continually praying to God and putting self to death. It seems as though there was a lack of balance in his life especially after the additional fifteen years were added to his life.

Knowing what they had been through with Hezekiah, his deeds for the Lord, the people who knew what Gods words really said trust in the King as a man of God, thus their faith wasn't shaken by the threat and intimidation of the Assyrians.

God's commands are not negotiable! And you cannot fool God. Do you make excuses to bypass the Bible? God desires obedience.

Pastor leads his family in a verse from "the Proverb of the day." In this Scripture, the Holy Spirit teaches us that God Himself, by means of His Word, is our greatest prosperity and protection.

Pride is spiritual devastation. Pride, which comes in many forms, is dangerous because it draws us away from God.

Pride-An Elevated Opinion of One's Self.

Let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall. 1 Corinthians 10:12.

What shall the final generation of human history as we know it actually look like? What shall the generation of man look like just prior to the return of Jesus Christ on the clouds, in the Father's glory, with wrath, and with the holy angels?

In addressing high society women in Judah, God is making the point that not only women but all of God's people were placing more trust in their trinkets, pride and wanton lifestyle than in God Himself. This inevitably leads to disastrous consequences because it brings God's judgment. Everyone is responsible - from the vulnerable poor to the arrogant rich - for their own part in turning from the Lord.

Rather that pridefully talking about "The Annointing" and the gifts that you have "YOUR ministry" true ministers of the Lord Jesus Christ rejoice that their names are written in heaven according to Christ Himself. Luke 10:20

What was God's command to Job's self-righteous friends?

While it may sound like a contradiction, Christians should have "humble confidence." We should carry ourselves as though we were of no account. But we should have utmost confidence in the Lord and His ability to work through us.

Sarcasm is rarely edifying, but can sometimes be used to point to an issue in a powerful way. Especially the issue of pride.
