While John showed us that Jesus was the Son of God, Luke wants to show us a different side of Jesus. I think the theme of Luke is found in Luke 19:10 where Jesus says that the 'Son of Man came to seek and to save that which was lost.' Join us as we see 14 testimonies about the coming of the Son of Man and who He is.
The Bloodline of the Anti-Christ_03 Daniel 8:1-27In chapter seven we looked at a dream and visions that God gave Daniel. As we move into chapter eight we see God giving Daniel another dream. In this second vision, Daniel sees some of the same truths he saw in the first dream, such as the rise of world empires. But now he is given greater detail. He sees a ram and a goat. It is a dream that primarily deals with the two kingdoms that would follow the Babylonian kingdom. When we talk about the antichrist and future events, don't take them as just the wild imagination of Daniel or John. They are truths that one day will happen on the earth.God was not telling Daniel to not tell what he had seen, but preserve it for future generations. God wanted us to know what the future holds. That is why we have the dreams of Daniel and the Book of Revelation. He wanted to know what will happen in the days to come. The vision of the Persian Ram and Grecian He Goat.
The Bloodline of the Antichrist_pt2 Daniel 7:1-28Daniel describes the first vision of the four beasts rising out of a stormy sea.He described ten horns, a little horn, the ancient of days and the son of man coming in the clouds of heaven to establish the messianic kingdom.Daniel was aware that the Medes and Persians would conquer Babylon and that the Greeks would conquer the Persians.Daniel knew all this before Belshazzar saw the handwriting on the wall.651 Years later John in Revelation would allude to this chapter in his vision in revelation chapter 13.People often wonder what the future holds. Daniel's dream and visions tell us exactly what the future holds. The accuracy of the past assures us of the future. Such prophecies of the Bible, the fulfillment of those prophecies assure us that God has His hand on the driver's wheel.
favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women.
And when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and cast in her mind what manner of salutation this should be.
And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God.
And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS.
He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David:
And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.
This text reveals that Christ's conception was of God and not man. It was miraculous. Second we look at how the words spoken to Mary are an encouragement and rejoicing to the church. Third, we see the greatness of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
When God spoke through John the Baptist, it had been 400 years of silence from a prophet. Some might think he has been silent for the last 2,000 years. But God has NOT gone silent. He continues to raise his voice in the wilderness through the preaching of the Gospel. He uses men born of his Spirit unto this calling. Men who are made for this purpose by God. Men who are sent of God to declare so great a salvation revealed in the person and work of Jesus Christ. He is our great boast and glory. This world needs Christ, and we are sent "to make ready a people prepared for the Lord" (Luke 1:17).
Today we're taking a closer look at the ninth chapter of the Book of Daniel.
