Bible Believers Baptist Church - Acts 4:32-36; 2 Corinthians 8:7-9
Friendship Baptist Church - Ezra 4:1-5; Romans 8:35-39
Ezra 4:1-5 (KJV) Now when the adversaries of Judah and Benjamin heard that the children of the captivity builded the temple unto the LORD God of Israel; 2 Then they came to Zerubbabel, and to the chief of the fathers, and said unto them, Let us build with you: for we seek your God, as ye do; and we do sacrifice unto him since the days of Esar-haddon king of Assur, which brought us up hither. 3 But Zerubbabel, and Jeshua, and the rest of the chief of the fathers of Israel, said unto them, Ye have nothing to do with us to build an house unto our God; but we ourselves together will build unto the LORD God of Israel, as king Cyrus the king of Persia hath commanded us. 4 Then the people of the land weakened the hands of the people of Judah, and troubled them in building, 5 And hired counsellers against them, to frustrate their purpose, all the days of Cyrus king of Persia, even until the reign of Darius king of Persia.
Romans 8:35-39 (KJV) Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? 36 As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. 37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. 38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, 39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Ezra 4:23-24 (KJV) Now when the copy of king Artaxerxes' letter was read before Rehum, and Shimshai the scribe, and their companions, they went up in haste to Jerusalem unto the Jews, and made them to cease by force and power. 24 Then ceased the work of the house of God which is at Jerusalem. So it ceased unto the second year of the reign of Darius king of Persia.

Frustrating evil schemes, with prayer - see Sermon Outline PDF
Everybody gets angry, but is our anger godly? Most of us would say that our anger is righteous, but that might be because it we don't actually know what righteous anger looks like. Let's be clear: just because anger feels right doesn't make it righteous. With that in mind, what does godly anger actually look like?

Affirm the value of each family member and enjoy the growth and development of the character of your kids. This message may be helpful for every life stage. How do you show value to others?

Nothing can frustrate God and His plans!
I. The Church must pray for its mission.
A. For pastors and all ministry of he Church.
B. For God's glory above all.
II. God intervenes when the Church prays.
A. To frustrate the plans of the wicked.
B. To redeem His people.
III. The Church has every encouragement to pray.
A. Earnestly and without ceasing.
B. Expectantly.

[Sung Psalm: 149]
Why do I preach so much from the Old Testament? Because that's what the apostles' both practiced and commanded.
When the apostles set out to preach Christ and him crucified – they had to explain to Gentile hearers why a Jewish “Messiah” mattered to Gentiles! What does it mean to be a Christian?
You cannot make sense of Christian identity without understanding the story of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the story of Moses and the Exodus, the story of the Judges and the failure of Israel, the story of David and Solomon and the building of the temple, the story of the divided Kingdom and the failure of the kings, the story of the Exile and the restoration – the new Exodus under Zerubbabel, and the story of the rebuilding of Jerusalem – and the rebuilding of the people of God, under Ezra and Nehemiah.
The Gentiles who put their faith in Jesus were not just believing in something God did in their generation – they were believing in something God had been doing for thousands of years!
When you became a Christian you were grafted in to Israel – through baptism into Christ, you were joined to the family of Abraham (Gal 3:28) and became “heirs together with Israel, members of one body, sharers in the promise in Christ Jesus” (as Paul says in Eph. 3:6)
The weapons of our warfare are spiritual weapons – but they are weapons nonetheless! And so just as Nehemiah's laborers worked with the weapons beside them, even so must we.

Zion Hill Baptist Church - Galatians 2:21; Romans 4:1-12
Do you work or "do" in order to be righteous, then you frustrate the righteousness of God and fail at righteousness.

Galatians 2:19 For I through the law am dead to the law, that I might live unto God.
20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
21 I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.

Eager Avenue Grace Church - Galatians 2:19-21
Galatians 2:19 For I through the law am dead to the law, that I might live unto God. 20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. 21 I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.

There is one thing you can always count on… when God’s people get busy doing the work of God, the enemy of God is going to show up.
In this text, the Israelites have just began getting back on track. They have rebuilt the altar, laid the foundation for the Temple, and just as they are beginning to move forward, opposition shows up.
What effect does it have on them? What effect does it have on us?

FPC of Malvern - Revelation 12:1-11
This passage teaches us about Victory of Christ over Satan in three specific ways:
Satan could not prevent Christ's ministry (12:1-5).
Satan can no longer accuse Christ's people (12:7-10).
Satan cannot destroy Christ's church (12:11).
Our Timeless Creator Inc. - Proverbs 13:12; Romans 12:12
This continues into the frustrations of, "Hope deferred, maketh the heart sick:". The frustrations of putting out every effort and a sense that God should be blessing with results. (Keep in mind that this testimony isn't about the speaker any more than John chapter 9 is about a blind man. It's about he that worketh in us.)
Our Timeless Creator Inc. - Luke 10:38-42
This continues into how the modern churches focus on growing in numbers and loyalty to the local work. Rather than developing our affections for our Maker. It also contrasts the results of serving the need with the deep labor of love.
Our Timeless Creator Inc. - Psalm 119:140; John 4:1-30; Psalm 126:5-6
This testimony of the speaker is one of a man seeking from early in life to understand how things work. This curiosity continued after his salvation on into the complexity of why would our creator ever die for something he made. It goes into the great number of contradictions of these last days and the frustrations of the ministry.
Our Timeless Creator Inc. - Proverbs 16:19
This looks at things that bother, frustrate, annoy, anger and irritate us. Then considers how we feel when these things happen and then applies those feelings to what God has told us about how his creation can make him feel. It also gets into third party offences and understanding ourselves.

CHARLES HADDON SPURGEON ON READING
'As the apostle says to Timothy, so also he says to everyone, 'Give yourself to reading.' He who will not use the thoughts of other men's brains proves that he has no brains of his own. You need to read. Renounce as much as you will all light literature, but study as much as possible sound theological works, especially the Puritanic writers, and expositions of the Bible. The best way for you to spend your leisure is to be either reading or praying.'

This chapter is a transition from a focus on Saul to David, on whom it will continue throughout the rest of the book.
This chapter gives a strong argument for the sovereignty of God and the accomplishing of His plans and purposes.
In the first part of the chapter David is anointed by Samuel, having been chosen by God as the man who would be king. In the later part, David is chosen by Saul to be one of his servants - that too all in the plans and purposes of God.
Lessons from this study include:
Past discouragement must not hinder our service to the Lord.
God's plans do not depend on man.
Sometimes the greatest grief comes before blessings.
God's choices are always best.
Obedience makes us effective in service to the Lord.
God's looks at the heart, not at outward appearance.
God chooses His servants.
God empowers the servants He chooses.
God controls all things - even the demons.
God uses men to accomplish His work.
