Greetings and welcome! This is our daily devotional for September 25, 2023. Today we continue our study in the book of Acts in chapter 11 with the Gospel going to other Gentiles. In addition, we will also see what being a Christian is all about. Thanks for joining us!

September has historically been the kick off month for our Church year. This Sunday with our mission's emphasis, it is good to be reminded as to why we as a church exist. We are not simply to be one big happy family, a social club. But rather we exist to 'Share Christ and Build Believers' We've been given the mandate to 'Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them and then teaching them to observe all that Jesus has commanded. We are to be fully devoted disciples ourselves who are growing in our faith. But we are also to be disciple makers. Reproducers producing reproducers. That is our mission, our mandate: Share Christ and Build Believers.

On May 23, 1886, Charles Haddon Spurgeon preached a sermon entitled, "Mysterious Meat." His text was John 4:31-38 where Jesus said to His disciples, "I have meat to eat you know nothing about." Join us on Sunday as we examine the "Mystery Meat" of Jesus.

How to gauge success in evangelism based in teaching from Matthew 22:34-40 and Matthew 28:16-20.

The ministry approaches of "Go and Tell" and "Come and See" are both found in the Bible. We have embraced both in our effort to follow Jesus and make disciples by sharing the gospel hope that is in us.

How does the eternal and glorious Lord respond to the low condition of His people? Psalm 102:12–17 looks forward to the opening portion of morning public worship on the coming Lord's Day. In these six verses of Holy Scripture, the Holy Spirit teaches us that the Lord invests the glory of His Name in rebuilding His church.

The Gospel preached elicits a response. For some the message of Christ Jesus is a welcomed blessing compared to the miserable religions of the World which demand performance. For others the message of Christ brings contempt and opposition. Here we see that the response of the Jews to the message of Christ led to the message of Christ being brought to the Gentiles.

God has determined to use missions and evangelism as his way of gaining ultimate victory over sin and death. The Power of the Law (vs. 1-2) The Problem of the Heart (vs. 3) The Provision of the Gospel (vs. 4-10)

We're at the end. Paul has made it to Rome. The Holy Spirit has led Paul to Jerusalem to be arrested, to Caesarea to be tried, and now on to Rome to have his case heard by Caesar. But getting there was an adventure! Introduction: From a huddled mass in Jerusalem (ch. 1) to the masses of Rome (28:11–14) COURAGE FROM "THE BROTHERS" (V. 15) CONFIDENCE BEFORE THE JEWS...AGAIN (VV. 17–28) "How We Got Here" with Confidence (vv. 17–22) His Confident Proclamation of Hope from Scripture (v. 23) His Confident Application of the Scriptures (vv. 24–28) "WITH ALL BOLDNESS AND WITHOUT HINDRANCE" ... APPLICATION TO US (V. 30–31)

We rejoice over the baptism of a covenant child and the reception of new members into our congregation. On this happy occasion we will consider the promise of the Holy Spirit poured out from heaven like water upon dry and thirsty ground for those who hunger and thirst after righteousness. To remember the promise that if any thirst, the Father and Son will send the Holy Spirit to fill them with Christ - and that this promise is not just for covenant children but also all those afar off - making us one people of God by the Holy Spirit. In Isaiah 44:1-5 we see a picture of these glorious truths.
