Jesus calls His disciples to judge with righteousness and for the growth of the kingdom. So many believe that Christians are not to judge others. However, in this portion of the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus teaches His disciples to judge, first themselves, and then others as the first part in kingdom growth.

8/21/2022 Scripture: Proverbs 9:1-12 Text: Proverbs 9:10-12 Sermon: Wisdom's Final Appeal: Beware of Eternal Consequences I. To Know God Is to Fear Him II. Knowing and Loving God Is Good for You III. Consequences in Life Are Inevitable WISDOM'S FINAL APPEAL: BEWARE OF ETERNAL CONSEQUENCES! 10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. 11 For through wisdom your days will be many, and years will be added to your life. 12 If you are wise, your wisdom will reward you; if you are a mocker, you alone will suffer." Proverbs 9:10-12 This Lord's Day Pastor Randy will continue our study of the Book of Proverbs. If you listen, learn, and remember Wisdom's words and do them, you will be safe from many troubles. The unstated contrast is that if you don't trouble and trials will befall, and ultimately destruction. Proverbs 9 is a chapter of practical Wisdom. Verses 10-12 conclude Wisdom's call. Why listen to anyone else? Why turn from the only source of knowledge and truth? These last verses are the application of all that Wisdom has said. She pleads with all who listen that they should do what She says. In the end there are only two options. You will listen, learn, and do what Wisdom says, or you will play the part of the fool… and earn the fool's reward. These are the only two options.

As we run into the strange woman again in the book of Proverbs, we are given another warning to stay far form her. Through studying this portion of scripture every Christian can learn how to deal with ungodly influences, before those influences defeat them.

The Book of Proverbs has a mission statement right at the beginning. Its purpose is declared in the first chapter and a strong sample is demonstrated. These Scriptures are provided, preserved, and promoted by the Spirit of God. They are a continual source for people to search and to feed their soul. What will the Proverbs do for you?

There are in this passage, such wonderful words of expression which came forth from the lips of these two blessed women to each other. And they have application to us today. Let me give you now, 3 things to think about in relation to holding communion with others of your brethren. I want to speak to you 1st of all – Of Mary's great desire to share her joy with Elizabeth, and how this applies to us. 2nd – Of Elizabeth's prophetic response to Mary and how this applies to us here today. And 3rd – Of how it is that by the blessings of fellowship, their faith was established and strengthened, and how this too applies to us. May the Lord establish our fellowship with each other by means of this message.

Spiritual Warfare - Lesson 18 - A Warrior and His Arrows - Psalm 127:3-5. The Bible talks about children in terms of arrows. Our children are weapons in spiritual warfare! They are arrows to be fashioned and used in spiritual battle, launched against the world, the flesh, and the devil. This gives us an illustration that shows us that we have a three-fold duty to our children as we receive them as gifts and rewards from God. If we understand God's purpose for children then we will follow His Word in order to 1) fashion them, 2) aim them, and 3) let them go, thereby make a lasting impact for the Kingdom of God and a lasting name in the community.
