Last week we looked at a portion of Paul and Timothy's prayer that we as believers would be strengthened with all power, a power that has as its source the Father's glorious might or power. This week we will be focused on the purpose of powerful spiritual strengthening. That is the attaining of all steadfastness and patience while joyously giving thanks to the Father. The call to be steadfast in the face of the schemes of the Devil. To be steadfast as the culture pushes in the direction of evil and confusion. We ponder the wonder of God's work summarized in the phrase "who has qualified us."
Everyone wants happiness and everyone wants to be satisfied. But people take very different paths to achieve those goals. In the end, all idolatry leads to pain and ruin. But putting God at the center of our lives leads to fullness of joy and pleasures forevermore.
The Gospel of the Kingdom - Message 94 - Blessing the Little Children - Matthew 19:13-14. "Let the little children come to Me." How do we bring our children to Christ to be blessed by Him? By teaching them His Law and the Gospel.
"And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation;"
King James Version
PULLING IT TOGETHER AGAIN: When things fall apart.Psalm 119:107 "Everything's falling apart on me, God. Put me together again with your Word." How do we pull things together again when they fall apart?
We can start by:
(1) mourning – expressing our hurt to God,
(2) fasting – focusing our heart on God, and
(3) praying – asking for help from God.
We can keep going by both taking time to say thank you – and by choosing to celebrate every victory. Finally, we can make it last by dedicating it to God.
