WLC Q 45: How doth Christ execute the office of a king?
A 45: Christ executeth the office of a king, in calling out of the world a people to himself, and giving them officers, laws, and censures, by which he visibly governs them; in bestowing saving grace upon his elect, rewarding their obedience, and correcting them for their sins, preserving and supporting them under all their temptations and sufferings, restraining and overcoming all their enemies, and powerfully ordering all things for his own glory, and their good; and also in taking vengeance on the rest, who know not God, and obey not the gospel.
The mathematics of people who preach a false Christ does not add up. They subtract from the person of Christ..they try to divide our allegiance to Christ, and they add to what the Bible says. John says they "go too far". Listen to this sermon and study this wonderful passage with us (2 John 7-9).
2 John 7 For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist. 8 Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward. 9 Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son. 10 If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed: 11 For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds. 12 Having many things to write unto you, I would not write with paper and ink: but I trust to come unto you, and speak face to face, that our joy may be full. 13 The children of thy elect sister greet thee. Amen.
We continue to read certain portions of Scripture in their entirety, just as they were intended to be heard. From this we better develop "ears to hear" the voice of the Spirit in the text. In this episode, we learn that truth, obedience, and love characterize the Christian community, and to avoid the deception of those who teach otherwise.
In our study, Jesus prophesied of the destruction of the Temple in Jerusalem which happened in 70 AD. We look at the Mosaic Messianic Prophecies and the Omniscience of Jesus Christ, God manifest in the flesh!

And it came to pass, when Laban heard the tidings of Jacob his sister's son, that he ran to meet him, and embraced him, and kissed him, and brought him to his house. And he told Laban all these things.
In this message, we will observe how Jesus teaches us to look for authority and power in others who claim to be His messengers. It is their lack of authority and power in their lives that will require us to use discernment and not be deceived. It is also for our own warning, so that we do not become like those people, who have a form of godliness, but deny its transforming power.
