This message is based on Isaiah 6 and is a consideration of the call of Isaiah to be God's prophet, with a reading and explanation of the text. We see Isaiah's personal experience of encountering God in his holiness as Sovereign King of the universe resulting in his conviction of guilt and need for divine cleansing. Then from a position of a provided atonement he hears and answers the call of God to be his special prophet. What kind of commission is this when he is informed that people will not listen and repent so judgment is decreed? But in the midst of wrath and judgment God remembers mercy in accord with his covenant promises to send the Seed who is Jesus the Messiah..

Through Him we have received grace and apostleship for obedience to the faith among all nations for His name,  among whom you also are the called of Jesus Christ;
 To all who are in Rome, beloved of God, called to be saints:
Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
At this hour, I want to open up for you, the truth that every true believer in Christ is sealed with the Holy Spirit. What does this mean? Well, very simply, it means that when you believe in the Lord Jesus, you are once and for all given the Holy Spirit to be with you forever. But there are some particulars of this sealing that I want to set forth to you so that you will understand this better. 1st of all – You must hear and believe the word of truth before you can be sealed with the Holy Spirit. 2nd – You will have a certain assurance of salvation which will be brought to you by God's sealing you with the Holy Spirit. And 3rd – This sealing with the Spirit is the real guarantee of your inheritance, until the redemption of the purchased possession takes place in your life. Let us pray that as we enter into this subject that the Lord will broaden and deepen our understanding of this great salvation which has been given to us by our Triune God; Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Abraham is a figure of every child of God. They are children of faith, like Abraham, who believed God and it was accounted to him (imputed) for righteousness. In Genesis 12 we see seven examples that reveal what God does for everyone of those he graciously saves by the blood redemption of Jesus Christ. God chooses whom he will. God calls them out of darkness and idolatry. God reveals faith in them as his gift to them. God blesses them in Christ. God tries his children; proving their faith to them to cause them to know and learn of him. God's children find that they are sinners in this flesh, to know their continuous need of his grace and to be gracious to their brethren. God preserves his children to the end. In Abram, as a figure of every Believer, we see our need of God's grace from beginning to end for Christ's sake.
Abraham receives more verses than any other person in Hebrews 11. He is renowned as "the father of all who believe." He was an ordinary man like us, but his faith in God made him live an extraordinary life. Much of our ineffective Christian living is rooted in the weakness of our faith. May we listen to this man's life and grow in faith to experience God's mighty works in our lives.
