Bible study series in - Life of Jospeh - Part 20 (C). Looking at Jacobs blessing of Jospeh & Benjamin & Israels dying moments in Genesis 49.

What does it mean to be quick or dead. We do a biblical analysis of this term.

Jehovah presents Him as the eternal God, without beginning or end. He is the great "I AM" of all time and eternity, wonderfully in charge of all His creation, working all things after the counsel of His own will. Here we look at our Savior's claim to be the true vine. Israel failed to be the vine in God's vineyard that He intended them to be, so that in His wonderful plan, only His beloved Son could be the "true vine" as the great I am, producing the fruit that God desired. But in the plan of God it is now His purpose to make us the branches of the true vine so that we become the fruit bearers as we abide in Him. He has graciously chosen to bear the Son's fruit through us! This message we try to understand what it means to be removed as a branch from the vine and then burned.

Meditation on the word of God is key to becoming wither-proof.

God removes things that prevents and hinders Christians from producing the maximum amount of spiritual fruit. God judged Israel for not serving Him and not producing the fruit He required them to produce.

Abide in Christ. God is the Gardener. Jesus is the True Vine. We are the Branches.

New Heart, New Spirit_27 Ezekiel 31:1-18This message was given in 587 B.C. Ezekiel compared Egypt to Assyria, calling Assyria a great cedar tree. The Egyptians were to look at the fall of the mighty nation of Assyria (whose demise they had seen) as an example of what would happen to them. Just like Assyria, Egypt took pride in its strength and beauty; this would be its downfall. She would crash like a mighty tree and be sent to the grave. There is no stability apart from God, even fora great society with magnificent culture and military power. Pride is a horrible evil in the sight of God. We become guilty of sinful pride when we exalt ourselves above others. Exalting self degrades, shames, and humiliates others. Sinful pride causes a person to become conceited, haughty, and egotistical. Exalting ourselves above others can lead us to mistreat people through prejudice, discrimination, favoritism, and partiality. In exalting themselves above others, some leaders become oppressive, brutal, and violent. Such rulers often abuse their own citizens as well as oppress people of other nations. This is why God hates pride and says that it will lead to destruction.

In Mark we are at 11.1-11. There are incredible things to learn and notice there as the Lord fulfills at least 7 Old Testament prophecies. The world does not believe but the church must believe, grow in knowledge, and rejoice in what we learn about our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Come to learn and praise Him Sunday morning. Theme: Jesus arrives fulfilling Scripture though none really get Him – church, we must! Bethpage and the colt – temple ready Untie the colt and open the way for rule and judgment Garments and branches for the conquering King The cry for help in David's name – if they only knew!

What is the fruit of righteousness? We look at many scriptures that lead us to the teaching that it is the one of the great purposes to which we are saved. We are to grow in Christ and are to bear fruit in every good work. We look at the fruits of the Spirit and see the high standard of action that that puts before us as compared to the Law, and finally we look at the great passage in John 15 where Christ lays out the principle that he is the vine and we are the branches and that the branches produce fruit but all of the nourishment and support and energy come from the vine. If we are separate from the vine we are dead and unable to produce any fruit.

As Christians, we need to bear fruit that is desirable, not bitter.

When the Lord entered, He showed His purpose in coming was to save us. Jesus prepared for His entry. (v.1-6) Jesus entered, heading for the cross. (v.7-11) Jesus is coming again. Applying: How should we respond to Him? What kind of Lord is this? Zechariah 9:9 How have you received Him as Lord over you? Mt. 11:29 What happens when you have His favor? Luke 2:14

Jesus had to go alone to the cross to accomplish the work of redemption. No man could go with Him to help Him or to minister to His needs that day. It was a work which only the Son of God could do. But I want you to see that even though this was true, that the Lord Jesus Christ did have needs that His disciples around Him were meeting that day that as He entered Jerusalem. As we examine how his disciples were helping Jesus with His needs, I hope that you will see that our Lord still has needs which you can help Him with, as you go about to obey the commands of His word.
