Seeds of Sin; Showers of Grace

35

Sin is sometimes likened to weeds, thorns, thistles or tares that are sown into a field and overtake the field.
“But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat” - Matt 13:25
Similarly, the term “sowing” is often used to describe the spreading of these seeds of sin, such as, sowing seeds of discord, sowing seeds of strife, sowing iniquity, sowing into the wind, sowing tares, sowing to the flesh, sown in corruption, sown in dishonor and sown in weakness. Scriptures say,
“Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap” - Gal. 6:7
Such is the issue of sin; when we sow seeds of iniquity into the garden of life it brings forth a crop of corruption and dishonor that impact not only us but those around us. Apart from the Lord it is impossible to overcome. This message illustrates this subject by examining the impact David’s seed of iniquity had on him, his family, his friends, his staff and leaders and on the nation.
