Hurricane Season

Featured on Oct 14, 2004
The Anglican, John Henry Newman, became a Roman Catholic in 1845. The story of his journey to Rome is a strong reminder in our own day to pay attention to the warning bells that are sounded in the theological realm. We cannot easily tell what people's motives are or where they are ultimately going to end up in their theological journeys, however, the warning bells that sound, even for slight deviations from established Reformed doctrine, are not to be taken lightly. When there is doctrinal innovation, we have to ask whether it is merely a refreshing summer breeze or the precursor to a hurricane.
