Introduction & Background to Acts
Series Acts 2010
465
The book of the Acts of the Apostles plays a unique role in the Word of God as the history book of the Church. It gives definition, clarity, background, and supporting information regarding God's plan for the Church. This book is foundational to understanding how God is building His Church as first introduced by Jesus Christ.
The first thirty years of the Church's history and the impact it had worldwide as the Gospel was spread is recorded as a testimony of God's plan and purposes.
The only Gentile apostle, Luke, organized the material in an orderly presentation as a continuation of his gospel account as the work of Christ went on through the Church, the new Body of Christ.
