Faith That Moves in the Impossible - Part 3

44

Rahab the Harlot

Introduction: “there will be surprises in heaven.”

Text: Heb 11:31 By faith Rahab the harlot did not perish along with those who were disobedient, after she had welcomed the spies in peace.

I – True faith does not come through man-made steps
II - God does not require much to infuse true faith.
III - Rahab's faith had little light but it was true faith.

Notice the FUNDAMENTALS OF RAHAB'S FAITH

IV – Rahab's faith spared her and her extended family
V - The picture of Christ: a scarlet chord
VI - Miscellaneous digression into apologetic subjects

a) Why the utter destruction of Jericho? Gn 15:14-16 comp Lv 18 & Isa 26:21

b) What about Rahab's lie?

Now, why doesn't the Bible speak against her lie?

CONCLUSION:

Faith is accessible to sinners
God's mercy is much greater and wider than what we can fathom
God chooses only the Rahabs of this world…
Rahab appears in the genealogy of the friend of sinners!
Mt.1:5

What will we do with this information? Just consume the
sermon? or Judge the preacher and his preaching? Or, use
it to make, train, build and replicate disciples of Jesus
Christ in their most holy faith? Will we be happy with the
TRELLIS or will we labor for the VINE?
