Mohammad's Qur'an says in Sura 9:5, " then fight & slay the Pagans wherever ye find them, & seize them, beleaguer them, & lie in wait for them in every stratagem (of war) ..."; Sura 8:60 says, "Against them make ready your strength to the utmost of your power, including steeds of war, to strike terror into (the hearts of) the enemies, & others besides, whom ye may not know, but whom God doth know."; Sura 5:33, "The punishment of those who wage war against God & His Apostle, & strive with might & main for mischief through the land is: execution, or crucifixion, or the cutting off of hands & feet from opposite sides, or exile from the land: That is their disgrace in this world, & a heavy punishment is theirs in the Hereafter."
Islam, Warlike or Peaceful?
The Ayatollah Khomeini taught, "Islam says: Whatever good there is exists thanks to the sword and in the shadow of the sword! People cannot be made obedient except with the sword! The sword is the key to Paradise, which can be opened only for Holy Warriors! These are hundreds of other [Koranic] psalms and Hadiths [sayings of the Prophet] urging Muslims to value war and to fight. Does all that mean that Islam is a religion that prevents men from waging war? Sura 9:29 in the Qur'an says, "Fight those who believe not... even if they be People of the book [Christians and Jews] until they have willingly agreed to pay the Jizya tribute in recognition of their submissive state."
