God's Accepting Your Works

120

Are we accepted by God, as we are, in our sins, without conversion to Christ? Are our works accepted by Him? No, the Bible teaches us that we are only accepted in Christ; when we have faith in what Christ has done in His life and His death on our behalf. When are accepted by God in the Beloved; our Lord Jesus Christ, then all of our works are accepted as well. Ephesians 1: 5 – “Having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved.” And salvation; we read in Ephesians 2: 8 and 9 says, is only “by grace through faith, and that not of ourselves; not of our works, lest any should boast.” It is the gift of God. Solomon came to know, even if he did not know these verses, still came to understand in his time; in the Old Testament time; that God does accept the works of the one who is trusting him. So this evening we want to think about what we should do; how we should live, as believers, since God has already accepted our works, because of Jesus Christ our Lord. Here in verses 7 and 8 we find Solomon urging the believer in God to keep these two instructions of wisdom because his works are already accepted in God's sight. First, he instructs the believer to be joyful and to have a merry heart. Second, he instructs the believer to let themselves always wear white and their head to lack no oil.
