Triumph over Tragedy
Series Genesis: Foundations of Faith
178
What happens to your faith when circumstances, particularly the tragedies of life, scream at you that God is not as good as He could be? How do you confront such thoughts, let alone deal with them in a productive way?
In this story, we're told how God providentially allowed Abraham to use the greatest tragedy of his life to secure an inheritance for his offspring. This points us to the death of Jesus Christ, whereby God providentially secured an eternal inheritance for his spiritual offspring. We're reminded that God specializes in bringing the greatest triumph out of the greatest tragedy, for the glory of Christ. This is what we must have the eyes of faith to look for in our own tragedies.
