1 Peter 2 -Part2 - Suffering for our Lord

As the tide turns against believers in this nation, it is good to remind ourselves of what is expected of us and what has been provided for us, so we may be prepared if and when we come under intensified persecution for Him. This is a study of the need to gird up the loins of our minds in preparation for suffering for our Lord. The lesson is that we are to be prepared in our minds for suffering for Him and our confidence is not to be in the things of this life but in the sure things of our hope in all His promises to us when He comes back for His body the church. Peter calls us to holiness in all our behavior. Here we look at the command to earnestly long for the Word of God, the way a newborn baby longs for its mother’s milk. Our love for God’s word should cause us to run to it every day and to meditate on it throughout the day! Oh how we need to have it in our hearts, should we ever be denied holding it in our hands!
