The Spirit of Bochim

God told Israel to completely destroy the Canannites (see Deut 20:15-18), but in the period of settlement, they compromised.

1. The low road of spiritual compromise (1:27-36).

2. God's gracious intervention (2:1-5).

God, in the form of an angel (the second person of the Godhead?), intervenes to confront Israel with her sin.

She repents in tears (Bochim means 'weeper') but the repentance is short lived and no long lasting. May our contrition for sin be sincere and consistent.
