Guest host Adam McManus talks with Patti Garibay, the founder of American Heritage Girls, a Christian version of the Girl Scouts. In this first installment of two conversations with Patti, she shares her story of having grown up in a home where her father contracted the debilitating disease called Multiple Sclerosis and her mother became a hardened alcoholic.

When she began dating her future husband, she became pregnant out of wedlock at 19. Patti shares the dramatic story about her visit to Planned Parenthood. And, ultimately, both Patti and her husband, Pat, trusted Jesus Christ as their Savior. It's all chronicled in her book Why Curse the Darkness When You Can Light a Candle?

Tomorrow, she will share how deeply disturbed she became when the Girl Scouts, where she was a parent volunteer, began to shun God, embrace moral relativism, and advocate a secular worldview related to sexuality in particular.
