The pit fighter

Here is a mighty man of the King's army. He had a good lineage as that his dad's name Jehoiada means Jehovah knows. So God knew his dad and dare I say he knew this man as well. How do I know that, his name is Benaiah which means Jehovah has built. Here the verse tells us that he had done many things for king and country then elaborates on how he fought and killed two enemy combatants, killed this here lion in the pit and in the next verse he fights a 7 ½ foot tall Egyptian will just a staff. He was a fighter, so how do we stack up?
