Predestination Unto Adoption

In recounting the overflow of God's grace to those in Jesus Christ, Paul puts the spotlight on the crown jewel of Christian grace as he points to our adoption as sons. Not only is adoption the crown of justification, it peculiarly manifests the grace of God by marking out the reversal of our alienation as the Heavenly Father welcomes us into the His family. Nothing quite says “grace” like sovereign predestination in eternity past, and yet, that is precisely what Paul says accounts for our privileged status as members of the heavenly family.
