Daniel Marshall and the Beginnings of Calvinistic Baptists in Georgia

Daniel Marshall was a pastor who heard George Whitefield preach the gospel in the open air and was profoundly influenced by the evangelistic Calvinism of that dear saint. He left his home in South Carolina during the 18th century to preach in the open air of the State of Georgia. For his labors he was arrested and was warned to never preach in Georgia again. He calmly replied to this "If it is right to obey God or men you be the judge." He returned to South Carolina and moved his family to Georgia where he started the first ever continuing Baptist Church in this state. As Pastor Kurt Smith shows in this message, the taproots of Baptists in Georgia were unashamedly rooted in the Sovereign Grace of the Triune God!
