Mercy's Conquest of Misery's Legions
Series The Bible's Famous Chapters
392
In the rubble of the vanquished city of Jerusalem, the prophet Jeremiah reflected on the experience of his ministry and of the intensely personal nature of the trials he had endured. In his experience of being cast into the dungeon, Jeremiah had to confess that he had been overwhelmed by the circumstance and had been plunged into despair. But he found that even in that awful place the Lord was still merciful to him. He had seen even there the great faithfulness of the Lord. It is an exhortation for all the people of God not to give up their hope.
