The Covenant of Redemption

Bloody sacrifices were offered to God from the time of Adam. But the blood of Jesus Christ does what those sacrifices could not do: purify the conscience, freeing the sinner from guilt. This was determined in eternity by the will of the Father, the consent of the Son, and the testimony of the Spirit. The New Testament, therefore, causes the Old Testament of Moses to fade and pass away.
