Satanic Sifting

Jesus renamed Simon Peter, as God does with others in scripture. Satan demanded to sift Peter as wheat, which means he wanted to beat and separate Peter from the faith. Satan demands to sift us also, because we are God's faithful servants. Peter tells us later in his epistle to be "sober-minded, be watchful..." (Peter 5:8)We must strengthen ourselves with God's word and prayer and take down every "lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God..." 2 Corinthians 10:5
