Glorying in the Cross

With these words, "...But God forbid...", the blessed apostle clears away all boasting and lays his soul only on Christ the Redeemer. Paul had a glorious genealogy; he practiced Jewish religion to the 'nth degree; he might glory in his martyr-like life, but Paul stated his hope only in the merit of Christ. He could speak of his talents, his service, his representation, but no he declares God forbid to all but the glorious cross.
