Divine Adoption

Joseph has a problem. His children, Ephraim and Manasseh, are half Egyptian, but he wants them to be part of God’s Covenant people. For this to happen Jacob must adopt them as his own, placing his name upon them. Even so people today are not natural born children of God, but natural born “children of wrath.” The only way they can become part of God’s Covenant people is through union with a natural son of God – Jesus Christ.
