Sermon: I Peter 4:12-19

Introduction: If God is loving, why is there suffering in this present life?

I. God hates sin so much that He brings refining fire upon His children, v. 12.

II. What should be your response to such fiery trials?
A. v. 12 – do not be surprised

B. v. 13 – rejoice because of what it means

C. v. 16 – do not be ashamed

D. v. 16 – glory God

E. v. 19 – entrust your soul to your faithful Creator

III. God hates sin so much in unbelievers that they can expect greater judgment, vv. 17, 18.
