Fire Breaks Out!

The consequences of compromise come home. Some in Israel had chosen to follow an impostor and self-appointed leader, Abimelech. He began with murder, Jotham had prophesied against him and now fire breaks out between Abimelech and the men of Shechem. This is what happens anytime we substitute anyone or anything in the place of the reign of God in and through His Son, Jesus Christ.
