Genesis 1:3-5 (Part 3)
Series Genesis
Introduction
God's actions in verses 3-5: God said, God saw, God separated, and God named.
II. The First Day of Creation (Part 2)
B. The Word of God (Jn. 1:1-5; Col. 1:15-17; Heb. 1:1-3; 11:2)
God's speaking here is absolutely other than our speaking.
This Word is God Himself; sharing His power and attributes.
The Apostles knew that their Creator was in fact their Redeemer.
C. The Light of God (Rev. 21:23-25)
God gives us light so that we can see His works in all their glory.
God means light to be a way of drawing men to Himself.
The major source of our lives is the very glory of God.
Conclusion
When someone comes to faith in Christ, there is literally a new creation (2 Cor. 4:6, 5:17) called to reflect God's glory.
A constant reminder, every day of our lives, to look to the Lord and live for His glory (Psa. 19:1-2; 104:19-23; 30:5; 130:6; 143:8; Lam. 3:22-24)
“…may the dawn never come, may the sun never rise, that we do not think, ‘What does this mean?'” John Calvin
