Neutrality is a Destroyer
Series 1 Corinthians Series
Paul, for the second time in this letter, warns the Corinthians not to be deceived. Have you ever been deceived? Is there something that you might be deceived about right now? Whether you answer yes or no, the next question is, 'How do you know?' While some people outrightly deny the existence of God, there are others who render some kind of respect to Him--they neither reject God and His truth outrightly nor do they affirm it, rather they adopt a 'neutral' stance toward God and His truth. This stance, however, is destructive because ultimately it is a way of rejecting God's truth and replacing it with one's own all the while claiming that one is not opposed to God and His revelation. This is what Adam and Eve were doing in the garden. Our only protection from deception is through God's grace to self-consciously bring every thought and idea into subjection to that which has been revealed to us in the Scriptures.
