Faith's Grand Compulsion

481

The prophet Amos urged the apostate nation of Israel to seek the Lord while there was time to do so. In this text, the prophet provided powerful arguments arising from the very character of God Himself that should induce sinners to repent. The land had been ruined by apostate religion, and the perversion was abounding. But there was still time for individual sinners to turn from their wickedness. They were urged to seek the Lord, and not to despise His goodness that was leading them to repentance.
