When "IT" Doesn't Satisfy

Whatever "IT" is...

Both, Israel and the Philistines, found out the hard way and suffered horrible consequences for their irresponsible actions with IT. Death, disease, dread, dysfunction and destruction came upon them FROM the Lord. Can you imagine? It must have been ugly, painful and horrific. If I understand this correctly, good stuff, in the wrong hands, can be more dangerous and devastating to the same set of hands, or group of people connected to them, than if they had never seen or handled that which was never intended for them. The Philistines had no business with God's business... and it took seven months and a ton of sorrow to figure out they were messing with the untouchables of God. They had zero authority and no business fooling with the ark of the covenant or anything that God designated as holy. And God let them know quickly they had messed up. Yet, in all the went through, they never found room for repentance. They just wanted "IT" gone.

We must come to this reality. God is no token or symbol to be used however a man wants... remember this: the steps of a servant of God are ordered by the Lord and not vise-versa (Psalm 37:23).

And those that lift a high hand to what Jesus gives or brings into their lives, they line up on the wrong side of God. Israel, in Psalm 106:15, found themselves with exactly what they wanted but not content in what they thought they needed. God gave them what they cried for but what they cried for came with a spirit of leanness or discontentment. They had what they requested but no satisfaction in what they had.
