In these 2 parables Jesus encourages His disciples (and us) by telling that His kingdom will grow and it will permeate this world...therefore do not despise small beginnings. It may look like the kingdom is stalling, or stagnating...and it may seem like our efforts are of no value - but Jesus encourages us and tells us they are - and His kingdom is growing - so don't lose heart
