Sanctification by the Spirit (2)

105 ( 43 | 62 )

This twentieth message from Romans reminds us as believers that in the process of sanctification, we are responsible to let the Holy Spirit lead. Our SALVATION places us under obligation as debtors to the Spirit - we are to be putting to death the deeds of the flesh. Walking by the flesh only brings death (separation), but walking by the Spirit always brings life (satisfaction). This relationship requires daily SURRENDER because we are the sons of God - descendants who have been born into God's family. We are totally dependent, not fearing in a spirit of slavery, but trusting our Father in a spirit of adoption. Our STATUS testifies that we are children of God, and as children our titles give us the position as heirs of God and fellow-heirs with Christ. But the path to receiving this position is one of suffering.
