WHAT REPENTANCE IS:

• Greek Metanoia = change of mind
• i.e. Romans 12:2 - transform mind
• manifests in actions
• Mentioned throughout Prophets. ex:
  • Jonah 3:10 (national)
  • Hosea 6:1 (God's people)
  • Mark 1:4-5 (sin forgiveness)
  • Mark 1:15-18 (to gospel faith)

REPENTANCE IS NOT:

• "I'm sorry"
• Doing more to counter wrong activity
• "saying" a prayer

IMPORTANCE OF REPENTANCE:

• Luke 5:32 (why Jesus came to earth)
• Luke 13:2-5 (eternal destiny at stake)
• Acts 2:36-39 (for forgiveness)
• Acts 17:30 (command from God)
• Acts 11:18 (leads to eternal life)
• Acts 20:19-21 (turn to God, away from sin)

IS REPENTANCE FOR BELIEVERS:

• 2 Corinthians 7:8-10 (believers grief)
