Filling: the Outpouring of the Indwelling Spirit

58

In a previous chapter, I introduced the term Pneumatological Kinesis. Kinesis is the movement of an organism or cell in response to a stimulus, the rate of movement being dependent on the strength of the stimulus. The stimulus is the filling with the Spirit of God conditioned on total yielding (Rom. 6:11-13 & 12:1-2). Although the illustration of the light switch and the availability of the electrical power at the flip of a switch is used to illustrate the trigger for Pneumatological Kinesis, there is considerably more involved in the necessity for the release of the supernatural creative power dwelling within us in the Person of the Spirit of God. In other words, although being filled to overflowing with the indwelling Holy Spirit of God is simply conditioned upon yielding our lives and wills to Him, what defines that yielding is very specific and detailed.
