Testosterone Gospel Part 6 “1517 All Over Again!”: Exposition of Galatians 2:11-20

1. Paul without hesitation strongly confronts Peter and GETS IN HIS FACE! Christians are called to correct ANYONE who perverts the pure Gospel of Jesus Christ. Those who hold to a fake Gospel have a fake Jesus. The Church has been infected by the culture’s idea of tolerance and we are dying. (Galatians 2:11-14; 2 Samuel 12:1-6; Psalm 32)
2. Christians are justified before God because of the work of Jesus Christ, not our own. There are no works we can perform to justify ourselves in God’s court for our sin. We are justified by God in order to do righteous works. A living faith comes before works of righteousness. James mentions our father Abraham and his living faith, which was self-evident after he offered Isaac as a sacrifice. (Galatians 2:15,16; James 2:18-26)
3. When we try to add to God’s Grace, we hamper its effectiveness. If men were able to justify themselves through a religious system of works, the World did not need a Messiah! Every other religion besides Biblical Christianity was born in the (Galatians 2:17-21; Genesis 3:7; 21-24).
