Reasons for Local Church Membership:

1 - Because of the biblical comparison of the local church to a human body (1 Corinthians 12:12-27)

2 - Because of the pattern established by the early Christians and apostles (Acts 2:41-47)

3 - Because of the responsibilities of elders to the particular flock entrusted to them (Acts 20:28)

4 - Because all believers are commanded to exercise obedience and submission to their appointed spiritual leaders (Hebrews 13:17)

5 - Because New Testament churches are commanded to administer discipline to their wayward members (1 Corinthians 5:1-5)
