The Resurrection: Fact or Fiction

Thesis: Christians need consistent refreshers in the basics/foundations of the gospel. The Gospel is not just biblical/theological knowledge - it is the power unto salvation that grounds the believer in all areas of life, faith and practice.

I. REMINDER OF GOSPEL (v. 1-2)
* Because of remaining sin, we often forget
and/or replace the one true gospel
* Must be proclaimed, declared, taught
* Must be received, discerned, embraced
* Becomes foundational refuge for life
* It saves and perseveres
* Is daily interactive need

II. MARROW OF THE GOSPEL (v. 3-4)
* Christ died for OUR sins!
* Redemptive Plan answers every question
* Christ buried three days (death was real)
* He rose from dead (declared his deity)
* resurrection proved his sinlessness

III. PROOF OF THE GOSPEL (v. 5-8)
* Multiple post-resurrection appearances
* Paul - staunch persecutor turned believer
* Eye-witnesses spread message
* Peter ready to die for what he personally saw
* Most Apostles martyred for truth
* Christ brothers radical change
* Message spread in VERY hostile environment
